Hex Awarded Contract to Redesign The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™️ Species Information Service
New project aims to transform species assessments globally
Hex is excited to announce that it has been selected to lead the comprehensive redesign of the Species Information Service (SIS), a crucial platform underpinning The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™. This significant project aligns with Hex’s dedication to delivering meaningful user experiences and supporting vital conservation initiatives.
The project will see Hex collaborate closely with IUCN to reimagine and modernise the SIS. This overhaul aims to elevate the platform’s usability and functionality, making it more accessible for the global conservation community to manage and publish species data. The new SIS will be instrumental in advancing the IUCN Red List’s mission of informing conservation efforts worldwide.

The project will proceed in two phases, beginning with an extensive UI/UX strategy development. Hex’s collaborative and strategic approach aims to ensure that the redesigned SIS is both robust and user-friendly, supporting IUCN’s goal to streamline species assessments and drive conservation impact.
