A new digital home for a conservation powerhouse

BirdLife International required a full redesign and build of their website to increase awareness beyond their existing audiences; inspiring and educating the general public in order to drive unrestricted donations and support. After deep stakeholder engagement across the organisation and its members, we challenged and collaborated on BirdLife’s new positioning and messaging. This informed a rapid UX/UI phase that resulted in an impactful website, that the BirdLife International team can edit autonomously,-with a clearer structure and optimised donation journeys.

Project insights
The insight

BirdLife International needed to reposition themselves as a global campaigning organisation with a highly performant platform to drive unrestricted donations and advocacy from new and existing audiences.

The change

Rigorous, rapid mixed-method research to incorporate distributed insight from across the whole global partnership. We distilled this into their five-year strategy, brand and donation-focused experience design for the new website.

The result

Completely transformed the IA, UX and UI to better and jointly serve a wide array of audiences leading to more impactful donation and advocacy journeys and a strong uplift in donation intent and unrestricted donations.

Working with Hex surpassed all our expectations. It's rare to find a team so committed and enthusiastic. They pushed us to think differently and guided us through a thoughtful process, challenging our assumptions and helping us bring together voices and views from across the organisation. The final product is something we’re genuinely proud of and we're excited about what we'll achieve together moving forward.
